Privacy Policy

FontMaker provides browser-based Unicode text and symbol tools. Text is generated locally in your browser. Product analytics does not collect your input, copied output, or search terms.

Behavior analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics helps us understand aggregate visits, page popularity, referring sources, device categories, countries, and site performance. FontMaker also records allowlisted product actions, such as whether a font or symbol was copied, a favorite was added or removed, a category was selected, or a search returned results.

Search events contain only query-length and result-count ranges and whether results were found. Bio and nickname tool events record controlled tool and template identifiers and actions such as template selection, copy success or failure, sharing, and favorite use; they do not include the text you enter or share. For successful font and symbol copy events, FontMaker still records the request IP address, country and device category, event type, page and copy location, and server timestamp. Copy event data is retained for up to three months.

Historical analytics collected before this update may include copied output (up to 256 Unicode code points), truncation information, and search terms (up to 32 Unicode code points). This update stops new content collection; it does not delete historical records, which remain subject to the existing retention period.

Product analytics does not add an account, cookie, or session identifier. It does not record exact URLs or referrers in product-action events. FontMaker does not use analytics cookies, local storage, or advertising cookies for this measurement.

Local favorites and sharing

Favorites you choose to save may be stored in this browser's local storage so you can use them again. Shared bio or nickname links encode style settings in the link's fragment, not your name or draft text. Anyone who receives the link can read those settings. Link fragments are processed in the browser and are not included in product-action analytics. You can remove saved favorites in the tool or clear this site's browser storage.

When you use the Instagram / X tool-switch link in the same tab, your name and bio draft are temporarily placed in session storage to carry them to the destination. The transfer is consumed and removed on arrival and is accepted only within 30 seconds. It is not sent to our servers, included in shared links, or saved as a favorite. Refreshing the editor starts a new draft.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare provides hosting, network security, and web analytics. In providing those services, Cloudflare may process technical data such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, and referring information under its own privacy policy. FontMaker uses a password-protected internal report to review the product analytics described above.

Cookies and advertising

No analytics or advertising cookies are currently used, and FontMaker does not currently run GA4 or personalized advertising. If these practices change, this policy and any consent controls required by applicable law will be updated before those tools are enabled.

Your choices

You may use browser privacy controls or network-level content blocking. Depending on your location and the data involved, applicable law may also give you rights concerning personal information.
